This is the place where I let the masses know the musician that I have discovered this month. I don't mean discovered like the musician was Lana Turner and I found it sitting there in a drugstore and then took credit for its success. I mean I happened to stumble across it, most likely long after it was a movie star. If we're still using the Lana Turner reference. If we're not, that makes no sense. But the point is the musician is new to me and I love them. This is going on too long so the last thing I'll say is that I have given more than one Hanson song five stars in my ipod, so that's where I'm coming from.

January 2007    Julian Velard
I almost didn't pick Julian Velard because according to my own definition of this section of the site the musician has to be "new to me". But then I thought, who are YOU to tell me how to run my own site, huh? What's your problem? And then I thought, who am I talking to? So therefore Julian Velard is my pick. I found out about him in 2002 and fell in love with his first album instantly. I guess you could say he is piano based rock? I guess. I really hate describing music. I just like telling people that I like it and then having them go listen to it. So please do! Mostly I am picking him this month because he has an album that is "new to me" (I like continuing to put that in quotes) and because he doesn't have a record label so I feel like if you don't live in nyc or the surrounding areas it's likely you wouldn't have heard him. That may be completely narcissistic of me but I'm saying it anyway. So listen to some of the samples on his website! You'll love it!
